Welcome
The intent of Disturbing the World is to challenge its readers to a deeper understanding of who God is and what his purpose might be in our lives, and to provoke thought and debate about these important issues.

About DTW

Disturbing the World was initiated by Norma Allen in 2006 with a lonely post on Blogger, and is now becoming an important resource for truth seekers.

We begin with the premise that, as useful and stimulating as human philosophy and debate can be, these are not enough to lead us into a full understanding of theological truth. God has chosen to reveal himself historically in Jesus Christ and in the Scriptures of the Holy Bible.

He has placed us in community with one another so that we can support each other in our quest for understanding, intellectual honesty, and righteousness.

As we travel the path to clearer understanding, it is my hope that we will guide those around us into a knowledge of that same truth, and ultimately share together in eternal life through Jesus Christ.

"The Christian religion made its appearance as the common disturber of the peace of the world, because it put an end to the tranquil influence of custom, authority, credulity, sentiment, and imagination; [and] forced upon men the disagreeable task of examining evidence, searching records, and proving all things."

- Richard Whately, Thoughts and Apophthegms from the Writings of Archbishop Whately, 1856

Le nombre de ceux qui pensent est excessivement petit, et ceux-là ne s'avisent pas de troubler le monde.
